Rubaya - Reef Ridges

Just one kilometre up the road from Tulamben there are several great spots in this area:

The Eel Garden - a huge area covered with swaying garden eels. Literally about 1000sq metres with millions of eels all standing up to 60-80 cm out of the sand - an amazing site.

Reef Ridges - back from the Eel Garden there are fingers of reef stretching from 5m descending to around 40m. These reef ridges can be explored at any depth and provide excellent hard and soft coral and millions of reef fish.

Often barracuda are seen along with trevally. Expect huge barrel sponges, large sweet lips, turtles and manta rays are sometimes seen in this area but these are not necessarily regular sightings.
